The Fireplace
Some doors do not look like doors at all.
A sound in the kitchen wakes Trish after midnight. Then the furnace turns itself up, a visitor leaves no footprints, and the bricked-over fireplace in their small home begins to feel less like a forgotten feature than a warning.
